Happy Birthday, Iain Banks

I guess it’s a good night to start reading that hardback copy of Transition, that I thrifted recently.

Apparently, Banks wanted his friend and fellow writer, Ken MacLeod, to continue the Culture series saga upon Banks’ death in 2013. MacLeod, for his part, is hesitant, to say the least. http://www.scotsman.com/lifestyle/arts/news/dying-wish-of-scots-author-iain-banks-revealed-1-3690835
Wasp Factory was the first Banks that I read, in the mid-eighties, probably due to a recommendation from Forced Exposure magazine, and as such, maintains very high standings in my ranking of Banks works. I’ve never listened to a novel via youtube, but maybe I’ll take a trip down memory lane when I hit the treadmill.
