Although I don’t believe that Iron Maiden would have made the transition to mega stadium metal gods without the switch to Bruce Dickinson as vocalist, I also don’t believe that they would have gotten there without Paul Di’anno. The first two Maiden albums are some of the finest examples of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and tough enough to be loved by the era’s punks, as well.
