Happy birthday to Bunker Hill

Once a member of the popular gospel singing group, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Bunker Hill was a pseudonym used by one, David Walker. Under the name Bunker Hill, Walker released some of the most deranged and outta control R&B to ever rip it’s way outta the influence of Little Richard, not to mention he was abetted by Link Wray and His Ray Men, as his backing band, thanks to Link’s brother, Vernon, being the producer.

You may recognize Hide and Go Seek from John Waters, Hairspray, where it’s the soundtrack to a dance party at Motor Mouth Mabel’s record shop.
