Legend, a new film about the Kray twins

It’s been twenty five years since Peter Medak’s gripping take on the saga of the brothers, The Krays, starring real life brothers, Gary and Martin Kemp of Spandau Ballet, as the titular English gangsters. Although it seems largely forgotten, The Krays remains one of my favorite films of that era, thanks to the always interesting direction of Medak, and strong performances from the Kemp’s. It looks like Brian Helgeland’s take will be a decidedly different affair, with Tom Hardy doing double duty as both brothers. Excited to see it. Hopefully it’ll cover some of their work with bands of Swinging Sixties London (The Krays mostly skipped over that), as they were popular nightclub owners, who at one point were looking to get into artist management, if I’m not mistaken.

Here’s a photo of the twins from famed photog of Sixties London celebrities, David Bailey.
